Dear Scientific Data Purchase Participant:

For nearly four years, the SDP program has distributed quality commercial data to affiliated NASA researchers and scientists. The program was designed as "an opportunity to advance global-systems research, to strengthen the U.S. economy through development of remote sensing technologies, and to test a new way of doing business". Based on the quality of data, lessons learned, and user feedback, the SDP program was a huge success. However, the program was designed only as a "test" and will soon be closing.

Program closure will occur in the following time-incremented phases:30 May 2003 - ALL government (non-NASA) and NASA-affiliated scientists 29 August 2003 - NASA-wide The above dates include ALL aspects of the current SDP program including archival orders. Closing dates are firm and no orders will be accepted after midnight of the dates posted. Further, due to manning issues, NASA will strictly enforce its 50-scene maximum per order policy. After the SDP closure dates listed, EarthSat's GeoCover data can be ordered through the USGS EROS Data Center. Any outstanding SDP Tasking Requests or Archive Orders will be honored after the above deadlines. We sincerely hope that the SDP has served your science needs and we appreciate your patronage.

Sincerely,
